Should I Buy a Brand New Static Caravan or Second Hand Caravan on the Park?
If you are looking to buy a holiday lodge or a static caravan on a holiday park, you will typically have the options of buying new or used holiday homes on the park or even choosing your own holiday home and specifications, if there is a suitable empty plot. Many holiday parks have a fixed term licence for a holiday home, usually 15 years from new for a static caravan and from 25 to 30 years for a new holiday lodge. Therefore, if you buy a used holiday home on a park, the number of years left on the licence will decrease. This means that the number of years that you can use the home will be shorter and that is often reflected in the price, which also reflects the level of depreciation of the holiday home, very similar to cars although the depreciation rates are usually a lot lower.
